Lawyers take center stage at AMA Phoenix dinner meeting

The Arizona Multihousing Association held their Phoenix dinner meeting last Wednesday evening at the Phoenix Country Club and presented a special panel of multifamily lawyers. The event was attended by professionals working in the Phoenix multifamily market, including apartment managers and service vendors. Tom Simplot, president and CEO of the association conducted the meeting.

The focus of the night’s meeting was a panel that included Judy Dickey-Prohow from the Law Offices of Scott Clark, Denise Holliday with Hull, Holliday & Holliday and Mark Zinman with Williams, Zinman and Parham, with Tom Simplot acting as moderator. Questions ranged from recent legislation over frivolous ADA lawsuits, to questions regarding emotional-support animals and criminal background checks on prospective residents. The panelists stressed the importance of being prepared for unique legal situations.

Attendees were also treated to a legislative update from Scott Hines of PEM Real Estate Group.

AMA dinner meetings are held on a quarterly basis. The next dinner meeting for 2017 will be held on September 20th and you can register here.
